And associate a lack of movement with fear or a lack of,said faith.
But this view is narrow and very limited.
God and scripture cannot be viewed through the lense of our lived experiences or the contemporary culture of instant gratification.
“I want this therefore I will buy it”
Then,
“I want it ,now”
And ultimately
“I want it,By any means necessary “
But 5 minutes into a study of any bible character, you will quickly realise that anyone who went ahead of God,quickly regretted it ,some didn’t live to tell the tale.
One thing I’ve come to realise is,anything obtained outside the will of God must be maintained the same way.
Sometimes ,faith, trusting God means stopping when everything around you and even inside you is shouting “GO!”
It’s that quiet obedience that says I will sit at Jesus’ feet when all I want to do is run.
Imagine being confronted with everything you’ve ever wanted or at least coming face to face with something you want desperately ,with every fibre of your being.
Naturally, you will want to run towards it and do everything in your power to keep it,for as long as possible.
But faith is actually an unwillingness to proceed any further without God.
Its echoing the sentiments of Moses,
“And Moses said to Him, “If Your presence does not go [with me], do not lead us up from here.”
Exodus 33:15 AMP
Because
“Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. [Ps 121:1, 3, 5]”
Psalms 127:1 AMP
