1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV

[17] pray without ceasing,

Other versions say, never stop praying.

What sets Christianity aparts is how we pray or engage with God.

We unlimited access to Him, firdtly through Christ’s death and resurrection we can boldly approach the throne of grace and receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need(Hebrews 4:16)

Secondly, through prayer.

The Bible is not prescriptive in terms of when and how often in fact, in the verse above, we learn that we can pray as often as we want, its unlimited.

This unlimited access that we have to God can, and has, in some instances, become a double edged sword.

Because we can pray whenever, we are sometimes tempted to postpone our quiet prayer time to a later stage in favour of “more pressing” matters. As if our lives, don’t depend on God.

Nothing will ever be more important than praying.

Maybe once we understand that we pray TO God not FOR God.

He doesn’t need us to pray.

Yet, if we don’t, we do ourselves a huge disservice.

May God help us to be consistent and persistent in prayer.
