Metanoia

A greek word meaning a change of mind.

But in a deep, transformative way.

Not like at restaurant when you order something and regret it later.

In a biblical sense it represents repentance.

Which is more than just saying “Sorry Jesus”, by the way.

It represents a change not firstly in perspective which leads to a change in behavior.

Yesterday we spoke about seeking God, His Kingdom and His righteousness as opposed to just the daily provisions.

Today, we add another layer.

Another reason why we should treat seeking God with absolute urgency is not just because our lives depend on it but because Isaiah tells us that there is a time limit attached to it.

Isaiah 55:6-7 AMP

[6] Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call on Him [for salvation] while He is near.

[7] Let the wicked leave (behind) his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion (mercy) on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

“While He may be found” indicates that at some point He might not be so easily accessible and we are advised to capitalize on this opportunity.

How?

In a very practical sense, leave your wicked ways.

If you used to steal, stop stealing.

Its obviously not that simple, you need Divine assistance from God which begins with an internal conversion of the heart.

Is it going to be easy? No.

But it is possible and the results will be worth it.

Moreover, this is a time sensitive matter.

Of course fear should not be the driving force behind your repentance because that isn’t true repentance.

Take timevout today to introspect and seek God, His kingdom and His righteousness.
